The hybrid community of Douglasdale and Douglasglen was founded in 1986, and currently has a population of 11,768. The two communities are split by Deerfoot Trail, Douglasdale lying on south side and being the larger of the two. The community is bounded in the south by 130 Ave SE and the community of McKenzie Town. On the north it is bounded by the community of Quarry Park. On the west is the Bow River, and on the east is South Foothills.
The communities are wonderfully situated for access to tremendous greenspace, as well as having very convenient access to Calgary’s main artery, Deerfoot Trail. Downtown is 20 minutes away via Deerfoot Trail (19.9). Transit connections downtown are provided by the BRT 302 route, which passes north of the community, as well as bus routes that connect to the LRT’s Red Line Anderson Station.
