Points of Interest

The hybrid community of Douglasdale and Douglasglen was founded in 1986, and currently has a population of 11,768. The two communities are split by Deerfoot Trail, Douglasdale lying on south side and being the larger of the two. The community is bounded in the south by 130 Ave SE and the community of McKenzie Town. On the north it is bounded by the community of Quarry Park. On the west is the Bow River, and on the east is South Foothills.

The communities are wonderfully situated for access to tremendous greenspace, as well as having very convenient access to Calgary’s main artery, Deerfoot Trail. Downtown is 20 minutes away via Deerfoot Trail (19.9). Transit connections downtown are provided by the BRT 302 route, which passes north of the community, as well as bus routes that connect to the LRT’s Red Line Anderson Station.

Calgary International Airport is 22 minutes away via Deerfoot Trail (30.7km)

South Health Campus Hospital is 10 minutes south by car (9.4 km). Rockyview Hospital is 16 minutes west, or 15.2 km.

Douglasdale/Douglasglen Shopping and Amenities

The two ‘Douglas’ communities have excellent access to the shopping and restaurants available at McKenzie Town. It also has convenient access to Southcentre Mall, just a few mintues west on Anderson Road.

Fish Creek Provincial Park is a major feature of this community, and the others that line it on either side. Fish Creek has been a favourite destination for Calgarians over the years, offering an incredible variety of outdoor activities and environments for exploration. From the gorgeous flood plain on the eastern end to the winding wooded paths in the east, it would take decades to see every nook and cranny of this park. And it would be right on your doorstep! The communities’ location along the Bow River also give great access to the Bow River Pathway system, that are a true pleasure to use to blow off some steam on a long relaxing bike ride.
