Acadia Location and Transportation

Acadia is a Calgary South community that was established in 1960, with a population of 10,615. It is connected to the city by MacLeod Tr. and Blackfoot Tr. on the west and east sides respectively. It is connected to Heritage Dr. and Southland Dr. on the north and south. Directly to the east is Deerfoot Trail, the main highway through the city. Downtown is accessible via a 20-minute drive (can increase by 10 minutes with traffic). It has excellent transit connections with bus route 10 on MacLeod, and convenient access to Heritage Station on the Red Line LRT. Calgary International Airport is 25 – 40 minutes away depending on traffic, easily accessed via Deerfoot Trail.

Rockyview General Hospital is a 12-minute drive away and the South Health Campus Hospital is a 20-minute drive to the south.

Shopping and Amenities

Acadia is one of the closest communities to Deerfoot Meadows, Calgary’s largest commercial district with both a Costco, Ikea, and Superstore – among many other retailers.Acadia is located at the midway point between Calgary’s two largest malls: Chinook Centre Mall, and South Centre Mall – both easily accessible by vehicle and by transit.Acadia has access to the Bow River bike path and the many fabulous green spaces that line it. There are also many parks within the community itself, no matter where you are located there is one within a 10-minute walk.Heritage Park is one of Calgary’s favourite attractions, one the best places in the city to spend a warm summer day with the family. This unique heritage village is only 10 minutes away. Next door is the Glenmore Reservoir and the amazing green spaces that surround it provide endless opportunities for exploring.
