Transportation

Riverbend is 15 minutes away from downtown by car via Glenmore and Deerfoot Trail. The community’s location gives it easy access to both thoroughfares, which are well connected to other major routes. Transit connections downtown are currently provided by the 302 rapid bus routes. Riverbend will have a stop on the future Green Line LRT.

Shopping

Chinook Centre, Calgary’s largest shopping mall, is only 10 minutes away down Glenmore Trail. Chinook Centre and the surrounding areas has no shortage of amenities, entertainment and shopping. With something for everyone, there is Calgary’s largest mall and the surrounding strip malls. Riverbend is also very close to Deerfoot Meadows, with Ikea and Costco are right across the river from Riverbend. Sports stores, electronics stores, pet stories and grocery stores can all be found within minutes of each other in this central area.  At the heart of the community next door is a blooming hub of activity – The Market at Quarry Park. The Market at Quarry Park is a hub for the community where people can gather and socialize with loved ones. The Park Kitchen & Bar, Original Joes, Calgary Co-Op, Starbucks and more are the backbone of this hub with no shortage of retail and dining to offer those who buy a home in Riverbend.

Amenities

Riverbend offers convenient access to Calgary’s extensive path system, in particular the popular Bow River Pathway which runs the length of Riverbend’s western border. Here you can find Carburn Park jutting out into the river bend that the community is named for.  Carburn Park

Known as “The Hidden Jewel of Riverbend”, Carburn Park treated in the 1970’s along the eastern banks of the Bow River the park is named for Carburn Aggregates; the name of the company that built the three ponds which are the distinctive feature of the park. The ponds contain fish that attract a number of species of fish-eating birds including Belted Kingfishers and Great Blue Herons.  The community association offers many groups and classes for residents of all ages to meet, exercise, and socialize. A popular skate park was recently opened in the community. Also, a popular skateboard park, a skating rink and more can be found here; there is something for everyone at Carburn Park.
